“Moments of Solitude” is about capturing moments in life where we seek a sense of solitude amidst everything else. Being someone who has always struggled finding quiet moments when life is all around me, photographing others engaging in these moments allows me to discover some stillness of my own.

Andrew Aiello is a Los Angeles based photographer working with 35mm film and digital. As a social introvert, his desire to engage with the world has always been at odds with his need to get away from it. Photography grants him the ability to do both of these things, especially when capturing other people. In an age where we spend so much time glued to our devices, the world sometimes seems to speed past us at rates that we can’t comprehend. Not limited to certain subject matter, he loves how photography, especially when shooting film, allows him to slow the world down and be present. Whether it be a macro shot of a flower or a wide shot of a bustling urban market, his frames help him process those things that sometimes speed past.
